Can sideways Miles communicate with dead people like Island Miles? (self.lost)

was it ever explained how Miles got his "gift"? Either he was touched by Jacob at an early age, or it's from being born on the Island.

if the gift is from being born on the Island then Miles should also be able to hear dead people in the sideways timeline, no?

I imagined that similar to Sawyer, sideways Miles chose to use his gift for good (police work) rather then bad (cashing in on those who recently lost someone while finding the corpse's stash in the process).

  • There was no instance for him to use his power, so we don't really know.

  • Either way he left the island as a kid. So either the power was formed before he left (so side-ways Miles would have it), or the Island unlocked it from afar (so he wouldn't have it).

i dont think theyve ever explained it. it doesnt seem like sideways miles can speak to the dead. maybe miles wasnt born on the island in the sideways timeline.

As of now, I think we're operating on the assumption that the timeline was split when the bomb went off. So Miles had to have been born on the island.

The best arguments I've heard for the time-line split, was that it split in the 1950s. I wish I had links to all of the good arguments I read about that case though :(

I think he would be able to since he was able to do it when he was younger. Just another thing we have to wait to find out!
