If you are Democrat, Liberal, or Progressive, and plan to sit out the November election, please comment and explain why.

I pay so much attention I can see the lies of both democrats and republicans, and see the fact that they are not different.

It's like responding to a situation in which, faced with an approaching hurricane, there are two types of responses:

1> do what your told and don't come up with a different solution. You listen to the childish arguments such as "chose the least worst" or "you deserve to be punished" or "you aren't paying attention because you don't agree with me", and succumb to the peer pressure and threats even if you don't agree.

2> come up with a new way, which people in #1 can't recognize or comprehend because they are so caught up with #1 that they can't see another solution to the problem, so they ridicule you (like calling you a Douchebag) for even thinking there is one, but you stick to your principles, and be personally responsible for the outcome.

In terms of politics, if that outcome is a democrat or republican, it's the same shit that I don't want to attach my name to.

Im sitting out because I can't stand people using this argument as a reason to vote.

Fox News keeps claiming that they didn't report on Shirley Sherrod's comments until after she resigned but I think I have evidence that they published an article on Sherrod before the resignation.

like I said, the difference between you and I is that I think news organizations have to do the right thing BEFORE they create a story, while you think they can do right after. If you have a problem with Fox, you should have a problem with all of them.

the truth is that Dan Rather used 100% fake documents he received from a Democrat who use to be in the military in an attempt to undermine Bush's reelection. They produced a story based on these false documents calling Bush a liar about his service in the National Guard two months before the presidential election. Compare this with Fox who used a REAL VIDEO of a REAL PERSON who said REAL THINGS that were, of course, taken out of context, AFTER the person was fired. My point here is not to say Fox is good - but to say if you have trouble with what Fox did, there are at least equal, and it certain cases such as this, way more flagrant cases out there by CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, and MSNBC.

The difference between you and I is that I think news organizations have to do the right thing BEFORE they create a story, while you think they can do right after. Once a news outlet does this, I don't trust them. They all do it, and I don't trust them. I have no idea how people can repair trust after such a flagrant abuse of it.

I watch ZERO TV. I am no one's zombie, I wish you'd join me, but you are embedded in hate TV, so much so, that you hate anyone who doesn't watch it. The documents from the DOJ show that they were working this case well into the Obama administration. The only facts you care about are the ones you agree with.

would it change your mind? no. So what's the point. you're emedded, it's too late. It's more fun trolling you than trying to change you.

From what I've learned about liberals on reddit, one is only useful if they provide information you already agree with.

CBS had a news crew actively creating fake documents in an attempt to discredit the President. They didn't take real documents and display only a piece of them out of context, they used 100% FAKE Documents. Fox didn't make a fake video of the woman saying things she didn't say, they used a video of her own words with people laughing at what she was saying. Fox news didn't post the video to get her fired, they posted the video after she was fired. CBS doctored documents to get Bush fired and used their #1 show to promote it. That is worse that what Fox did. How many times have they done it and not gotten caught? Why would you trust anyone who's ever done that?

If fox fired someone for posting the video would you start trust Fox - no. So why do you have so much leniency with the news sources you "trust" - because they say things you want to hear, regardless if they are true or not.

It's pretty convenient to only trust sources that say things that you already believe, or want to believe, regardless of if it's true.

having me find some for you conveniently saves you from doing the research too, which, unfortunately, is how you'll learn.

I don't claim to be better than you - you claim that I am better than you. I am not an intellectual nor a pseudo intellectual. Your attempt to cut me down in an effort to refute me is very much in line with today's media and political culture - I am afraid your are too embedded in it to see another way. So if you can't see it, nothing I can do will show it to you. That's your problem, not mine. Don't try to cut me down because I've dropped out while you are still invested in the lies. So, my choice is made because there is no point to telling you what is so easily apparent. Your mind is made up, no matter how glaring they are, it won't change your mind, which is too bad.
