I'd like to think that this could never happen here in the US, but the sad truth is, it could just never happen under the current administration. Are you dense? Did you not even read my comment? I said THE IDEA of organic food is great. That's why people buy it, because they have been falsely lead to believe that organic means chemical free. Chemical free meats and vegetables would be great, but that's not what we get.

Many "organic" foods are sold with that label slapped on as a scam, but the actual idea is great. Pesticides, steroids, hormones, etc are fucking terrible for you, and in a free market, consumers should be able to choose to buy foods without it.

I really don't understand the anger around organic foods. Why should we not get that choice? Is it because people associate organic food with hippies, and transfer their hatred of them into hatred for organic foods? I honestly can't think of one reason that makes any goddamn sense.
