Global Research is like that. Being an organization that is at a university, the articles they write are generally very well researched. (They post some iffy or ranty articles in their news section sometimes, but those are different that the articles they write themselves.)

See the demographics I mentioned above. MA's base of support is from poor and rural Iranians (which are a majority of the population -- Iran is not an urban/suburban nation).

Let's factor in a couple of other "inconvenient truths":

The US gov't has allocated literally hundreds of millions of dollars to destabilize Iran -- that's a simple matter of the Congressional Record to verify that. We would be idiots if we didn't think the US didn't have some kind of hand in this.
Ahmadinejad's support is primarily from the poor and rural areas. A majority or Iran is rural. Those rural people aren't going to travel into big cities to protest. However, for young, disgruntled college students and members of the business classes (a typical US ally) it's a different story.

This has many of the hallmarks of a "colored revolution" that the US has funded and created in several other countries.

I hope the people downvoting this story is due to me posting a US-based story into WorldNews (my apologies).

...and not because the facts cited in this article do not conveniently fit into the US gov'ts and corporate mass media's spin on events in Iran.

Certainly some people in Iran are pissed at the election results. And there likely was some degree of vote manipulation.

But these US-based public opinion polls and the large margins which favored Ahmadinejad should not be ignored.

The court appointed an attorney for the guy. The cops simply ignored the court-appointed attorney.

In this case, the prosecutor didn't write a letter of apology for nothing. This is a distinct change, a change toward more gov't power and a change eroding a person's right to an attorney.
