Yes to the extent that it helps you gauge the link posted and if it is pretty useless I would remove it - no point leaving it there if no ones want to read it. On the other hand if the net karma point is very low but there is a high volume of ups/downs, I would leave the link intact.

That's a very broad brush stroke... and an unfair statement. Not all mods are aware of the conflict of interest that's been highlighted here. I am as concern as you are about this issue and I hope it can be resolved as soon as possible.

Yep, just happened to two of my submissions in the last few minutes. Had to delete the first one which went -ve quite rapidly. The second one occured 2 minutes after I submitted. I doubt if reddit can do anything about this.
