Citibank Doesn't Want Your Business, Linux Users. What other companies' websites and utilities have pisspoor Linux support?

If they don't fix the situation they're going lose customers and end up going bankrupt or something.

Nice example of anti-Quebec racism

I'm not sure you understand what the word racism means.

Absent the government, lending is negative by over a TRILLION; the notion that banks would ever use the money to lend to tapped out households or to small businesses was a ruse (CHART)

The banks have not been given an order to de-leverage, though. They have been given permission to and in the case of the largest, forced to, increase their leverage.

That's because the idea that this is a credit crisis is incorrect, we are in a solvency crisis.

Banks have money to lend and, since they make money by lending they have every motivation to do so, there are two problems, however.

One: A lack of qualified borrowers. If you've lost your job or been foreclosed on, as millions have lately, you're not going to get a loan regardless of how much the banks have available to lend.

Two: The banks are insolvent. They're holding these various CDOs and MBSs that you've heard so much about as collateral for your deposits. The banks know (even though the FASB has given them license to deny) that these assest are not worth face value. As such they are hoarding any cash they can get in order to hedge against the devaluations they know are coming.

Providing liquidity to insolvent institutions that have no customers is not going to fix the problem. Unfortunately that's what we did and now we are much more trouble than we were last September.

Even National Catholic Reporter confirms that the Catholic church KNEW about the inability of child abuse perpetrators to change and the fact that shuffling pedophile priests from one parish to another was endangering children.

Does anyone know why we don't use the RICO act against them? The RICO laws were designed to prosecute large organizations that are involved in covering up it's members crimes.

Politics? Or some technical reason?

How with all the random kidpron has 4chan's /b/ not been shut down yet?

milliondollarbill -1 points0 points 12 months ago[-]

If all it took to shut down a site was a couple idiots posting questionable material to it reddit would have been gone years ago.

Also, do you realize that you just broadcast to the world the fact that you've been looking at child pornography? If you saw it, then chances are that there's thumbnails on your drive somewhere. Guess what that puts you in possession of.

I'm out at sea until May 4th on an ocean drilling expedition, climate science not oil. Any questions?

milliondollarbill 2 points3 points 12 months ago[-]

Are you drilling just the ocean or will you continue down into the crust at the bottom?

Also, what if you accidentally hit oil? Will you put it back or keep it and not tell anyone?

Taliban militants shot down a suspected drone aircraft in a Pakistani tribal area

milliondollarbill 4 points5 points 1 year ago[-]

A "suspected" drone? What, they weren't sure if it was a B-2 or a drone or maybe a flying hot dog cart?

Also, so what? The whole point of drones is that they are cheap and replaceable. Shoot down as many as you want, we'll make more.

I'm not paying my credit card back because of the bailout. Fuck'em.

milliondollarbill 1 point2 points 1 year ago[-]

I'm doing the same thing. I've stopped paying the mortgage and I've stopped making payments on my credit card debt.

I'm not paying, I'm not declaring bankruptcy, I'm not sending them any notice nor will I be answering the phone.

If they sue me I will not cooperate and I will not show up in court. If they drag me in I will sit quietly then leave as soon as I am able to.

If they garnish my wages I will quit my job. If they try to take my assets, I will drag them into the woods and burn them before I give them up. If they still pursue I will drag the process out by any means necessary in order to force them to spend as much money on me as possible.

My bet is that they will write off the losses or sell them to a collections company. Either way, I don't care.

We Have Deflation, Not Hyperinflation. Please Stop Posting About Ron Paul And The Fed

milliondollarbill 0 points1 point 1 year ago[-]

Are you really so shortsided that you think "The way it is today is how it will always be"?

Deflation now, hyperinflation follows. It's not difficult to understand, you just need to actually use the google and spend an hour or two learning how things work.

Many police chiefs say they won't enforce new Mass. marijuana law. "We're just basically not enforcing it right now."

We've got the same problem here. Our police chief says he needs a "procedure" for to not arrest people for marijuana possession.

The real global debt fraud is being committed by the United States of America -- a country that has no intention whatsoever to pay back the debt it owes foreign debtors.

milliondollarbill 2 points3 points 1 year ago[-]

Fraud is such an ugly word. I prefer to see it as PT Barnum would. If they're dumb enough to buy in then they get what they deserve.

We're only at the start of a depression, we're already 11+ trillion in the hole, we have no good plan for recovery and no significant manufacturing base. Of course we're not going to be able to repay with anything but worthless dollars. Anyone buying treasuries in large amounts should already know that.

Recession Expected to Hit Bottom in Mid-2009

milliondollarbill 8 points9 points 1 year ago[-]

Yes, expected. My home state just released budget projections based on a mid-2009 bottom. Consequently, they think they're fine and plan to keep spending away.

We're screwed.
