Thanks for all the feedback! After looking at various options, I've decided to buy a cheap outdoor carpet and glue it down. The results are amazing! It may not be the most ideal solution but we are all very happy with the results. Thanks again for all the help!

Thanks! The tack strips are listed as suitable for concrete floors (also asked the guys at HD about it).

I'm also not doing the entire basement now. I'm only doing one fourth and will be doing the rest at a later time. How will the subfloor you mention transition to the remainder of the concrete floor?

Swype Bug: Pussy

Spoke with the good folks over developing Swype and they said it is a problem with word prediction. Turning off the suggestion box (aka Word Prediction in the settings) prevents the crash. They are aware of this problem (apparently other words are affected too) and have assured me it is already fixed in the next version.

Now, how to get a hold of that next version ...
